Your Visa to Intern in China
EasyPass will accompany you through the process of getting a valid visa to intern in China.
Working with the China Scholarship Council, we’ll provide you with the required official documents.
Which Visa For Interns in China?
All international interns are required to get a valid X2 Visa.
The X2 Visa is issued to non-Chinese nationals who have been officially invited to China to study.
Letter of Admission
To enter China legally you must have proof you’ve been accepted in an official program.
The letter of admission and the JW202 form must be presented to the Chinese consulate when you submit your Visa application.
EasyPass International will provide you with your certified letter of invitation in both Chinese and English.
Without these all important documents you will not be issued an X2 Visa.
Duration and Renewal
The X2 Visa is offered for a period of three months and is renewable while in China. You should allow 1 week for Visa processing. It is best to apply no later than 1 month and no earlier than 2 months before your departure.
Do Not Cut Corners
Warning : some companies will try to avoid the bureaucratic process by telling you it’s fine to “just get a tourist visa”. This is easier for them. But it is illegal. It places you in the delicate situation of contravening the laws of the country you are visiting.
You risk having your internship experience cut short. You will not get any official recognition for the work you managed to do.
Another concern is that if your internship company is willing to host you without the official and legal documents, then there is serious doubt as to the value of the experience. You might find your internship placement no longer exists after you have arrived in China.
You should always travel to a foreign country with the correct legal visa.
